Abstract With the rapid development of information and communication technology, the online shopping as a new way of shopping becomes more and more popular, and it is changing and reshaping people's way of shopping and living around the world. So the shopping behavior change under the influence of online shopping has always been the research focus in the field of traffic statistics and geography in abroad. This paper takes Nanjing as an example, and deconstructs the shopping process as a starting point. Then the author study the influence of online shopping on the residents' shopping behavior through differentiating between urban and suburban areas, search goods and experience goods. Firstly, this paper analyzes the main ways, used by urban and suburban residents, to purchase different types of goods for every shopping link. And the author finds that the network and store are the most important two ways. Secondly, by the chi-square test, the paper analyzes the impact of the ways used in every shopping link before buying on buying link. Finally, through comparing and analyzing the shopping behavior characteristics of different location and different types of goods in the shopping process, the author draws three main conclusions.
